Our Beliefs
We are a church that believes in the fundamentals of the historic Christian faith.
1. The Scriptures
We believe in the verbal (every word), plenary (all parts and subjects) inspiration of the Old and New Testaments by God. The Bible is therefore inerrant (without error as given by God).
2. The Trinity
God exists wholly and indivisibly, simultaneously and eternally in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three Persons exist in one divine essence and are identical in nature, having the same attributes and perfections. They are equal in power and glory and are worthy of all honour, worship, and adoration.
3. The Lord Jesus Christ
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the God-man, was conceived by the Holy Spirit in a supernatural manner and born of the Virgin Mary. He is very God of very God, being, “God manifest in the flesh.” He lived a life of absolute sinlessness, and, in His death, He made a full and vicarious atonement for our sins, dying not a martyr’s death, but a voluntary substitution in the sinner’s place. He rose again bodily from the dead on the third day and ascended bodily to Heaven, where He now sits on the right hand of the Father, as our great High Priest, “ever living to make intercession for us.” We believe in the premillennial, pretribulation, imminent rapture of the Church. This will be followed by the tribulation and the subsequent return of Christ to reign on the earth for a thousand years.
4. Mankind
Mankind is corrupt and sinful in heart and mind, thus being totally unable to save himself or be worthy of Heaven. All are sinners and in need of the salvation provided by God through Jesus Christ.
5. Salvation
The salvation of sinful humanity is a necessity for every person. God’s holiness, righteousness, and justice would not allow sinful humanity to dwell in His presence in Heaven.
In His mercy, love, and grace, God extends to all sinful humanity the opportunity to be redeemed and be brought back into a relationship with Him through repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ’s finished work on the cross.
6. Heaven, Hell, and the Lake of Fire
We believe that the Scriptures teach that, at death, only two places await the human being - Heaven or Hell. Heaven is God’s place of eternal blessedness for all who have repented and received Jesus Christ as their Saviour. Hell is a place of punishment for all those who have not had a change of mind about their sin and believed on Jesus Christ as the only Lord and Saviour.
Eternal life in Heaven will never cease, and eternal punishment in Hell fire will never be over. After the last judgment by God, Hell and those imprisoned there will be cast into the “lake of fire” to remain forever, in varying degrees of torment according to their works.
7. Civil Government
We believe that civil government is of divine appointment for the interest and good order of society. All in authority are to be prayed for, conscientiously honoured and obeyed, except only in the things opposed to the clear teachings of Scripture and the will of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who is the only Lord of the conscience and Prince of the Kings of the earth.
8. The Local Church
The local church is not a building but a group of people who have been born again by God’s Holy Spirit, baptized by immersion, and have joined together under the leadership of pastor(s) and deacons. The main purpose of the church is to glorify God. This is done as each member uses their spiritual gifts and abilities to edify the church and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those who are not saved from the penalty, punishment, and power of sin over their lives.
